Diabetes mellitus is one of the most common chronic diseases worldwide – nursing professionals in almost all care sectors are confronted with the challenges of this metabolic disorder. In this training, participants receive an up-to-date, practical update from a nursing expert specialising in diabetes care.
The content focuses on pathophysiological basics, modern therapy concepts and competent use of technical aids in diabetes management (e.g. sensors, smart insulin pens, insulin pumps). A special focus is on the prevention and safe handling of acute complications such as hypo- and hyperglycaemia, as well as secondary diseases such as diabetic foot syndrome.
