Dobratsch Round Trail - Stage 1: Warmbad-Villach – Bad Bleiberg

The Dobratsch Round Trail connects, over five stages, diverse landscapes, cultural highlights, and impressive views around Carinthia’s oldest nature park. Over a total of approximately 85 kilometres, 2,400 metres of elevation gain, and with a walking time of around 25 hours, hikers experience the full diversity of the region: from gentle valley sections through traditional villages to scenic high-altitude trails. The Dobratsch Round Trail is therefore an ideal experience for anyone who wants to discover the nature park in its entirety – step by step, stage by stage.Stage 1: Warmbad-Villach – Bad BleibergThe first stage of the circular hiking trail leads from the outskirts of the city of Villach into the quiet, forested mountain slopes of the Dobratsch and from there into the Bleiberg high valley. Along the way, you will enjoy almost untouched landscapes while gaining your first insights into the rich cultural history of Villach’s local mountain. Here, you enter a world of its own, which for centuries was shaped by mining and derives its charm not least from its distinctive architecture. By the time you reach Bad Bleiberg, the day’s destination, you will have recognised the special character and succumbed to its rugged charm. The hike will be accompanied by Naturpark rangers.
