LVS Training - Companion Rescue

Our 1-day avalanche course brings you up to date with avalanche and emergency management. Together, we train for emergency situations, thereby contributing to greater safety in mountaineering, as prevention is far better than cure. The first 15 minutes are crucial in an emergency! Only with the right strategy and skilled, trained use of your emergency equipment (beeper (LVS device), shovel, probe) is a quick rescue of buried companions possible. Every winter sports enthusiast (winter hiker, ski tourer, snowshoe hiker) who moves in avalanche-prone terrain should have basic knowledge of how to use their personal LVS, regularly practise correct use, and refresh existing knowledge. Technology is constantly evolving in the field of mountaineering as well – including avalanche victim search devices (LVS) and protective equipment in general (avalanche airbags, probes, etc.). There are technical advances and improvements designed to make searches easier – however, any technology is only as effective as the user's knowledge and application of its functions. The course is offered in small groups and is the ideal preparation for advanced training programmes. Participation requirements: Enjoyment of movement in winter environments, a certain resistance to cold, as well as motivation, thirst for knowledge, and openness to a very intensive day-long event.
