Description

Seriously ill and dying people often experience limitations in their perception, movement and ability to communicate. Nevertheless, the need for touch, attention and resonance remains. Basal stimulation offers nursing professionals the opportunity to address these needs with simple, mindful interventions, preserve dignity and promote quality of life.

Requirements

Willingness to actively participate in the training. 

Course content

  • Understanding the basics of perception and interaction
  • Experiencing mindful touch as a form of communication
  • Recognising movement and physical contact as resources
  • Integrating basal stimulation interventions specifically into everyday nursing practice
  • Promoting dignity, self-perception and security – even in the final stages of life
