Description

Scents are more than just smells – they are memories, bridges to the soul and quiet companions in the daily lives of elderly people. In aromatherapy, we can promote well-being, provide closeness and create moments of security. This seminar shows you how to use essential oils in geriatric care mindfully, safely and effectively – for more quality of life and dignity in old age.

Requirements

Basic course in aromatherapy of at least 16 hours recommended

Notes

This continuing education course can be completed as part of the legally required continuing education obligation.

Course content

  • The importance of mindfulness and scent perception in old age
  • Responsibility, safety and dosage of essential oils
  • Supporting skin health in cases of itching, dry skin and fungal infections
  • Aromatherapy in prevention: pressure sores, intertrigo, pneumonia, thrush/parotitis
  • Suitable care products for geriatric practice
  • Practical implementation, dosage guidelines and application methods
  • Skin contact as a communication and relationship element
  • Proven products, blends and their applications
  • Best practice: exchange of experiences and case studies
