Excursion: Visit to the Austrian State Archives and War Archives in Vienna. Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of history and archiving! During this extensive and exclusive excursion, you will gain unique insights into two of Austria's most significant archival institutions: the Austrian State Archives and the War Archives in Vienna. Together with Johannes Lebitsch, administrator of "Alte Ansichten von Klagenfurt" and genealogist, you will first visit the Austrian State Archives. There, you will learn, using selected exhibits, how historical documents are preserved, researched, and made accessible to the public. After a lunch break, the excursion continues to the War Archives, which deals with Austria's military history and houses a wide range of unique sources and materials, particularly on the Austro-Hungarian Army.
